OpenAI's Atlas - the New Chapter of the Internet?
first use-cases and my reflections
Hey there,
Another big week in AI.
OpenAI just launched Atlas, their new AI browser, and after testing it for a few days I feel like It’s not just a new tool - it’s a new interface for thinking.
99% of people have been treating AI like a search engine that talks back.
Atlas hints at something different: a future where we don’t “use” the internet so much as we interact with it, in real time, with context.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you might remember my video about Comet, Perplexity’s AI browser. That already gave us a peek into AI browser capabilities. But with Atlas built directly on top of ChatGPT (and all its memory), the shift now feels much more real. And it will scale much faster since OpenAI made it available to all plans (including Free plan) worldwide.
So what is the main promise of AI Browsers?
Instead of switching between tabs, copying links, taking screenshots and pasting them into ChatGPT, you can now talk to AI inside the page you’re already on.
You can also enable an Agent to perform certain tasks for you while you browsing (Agent feature is not new to Atlas, but it made very little sense in th ChatGPT interface)
You can research, analyze, and learn - all without constantly switching focus.
What feels exciting to me
• It removes so much friction. Everything happens in one interface.
• If you’ve used ChatGPT with memory, Atlas already knows your business and tailors answers to it.
• You can test ideas and learn directly on any web page - your own site, YouTube, or analytics - without leaving the browser.
What’s not quite there yet
• The AI agent feature (only available on paid accounts) is still limited. It can click and navigate, but not always reliably and most of the time it feels like you are wathcing someone who uses a computer for the very first time.
• Privacy is another one to watch. Both Atlas and Comet collect browsing data, so keep permissions tight, read T&C’s and stay intentional of what you share and what access you give.
3 practical things to try inside an AI browser
Here is a tip I shared in this week’s video that even surprised me.
I found it super useful if you want to give Atlas a try but don’t know what use-cases to test first.
Since Atlas carries over your ChatGPT memory, you can ask it to suggest the use cases based on your interactions.
Go to ChatGPT or Atlas and paste this prompt:
“What are the most high-leverage ways I could use Atlas (Open AI's AI Browser) for my business or everyday life, based on what you already know about me?”It will pull examples straight from your past conversations—personalized and specific.
It’s a simple but powerful way to start.
Here are some more examples to get some ideas flowing:
1. Make your website is AI-search visible (AI GEO)
Open your website, landing page, or sales page in Atlas.
Then run this prompt:
“Audit this page for AI GEO (Generative Engine Optimization). Suggest 5 ways to make it more visible in large-language-model searches like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity or Gemini.”This helps your content show up when people ask AI tools for recommendations.
2. Audit YouTube channels (yours or competitors’)
Go to your YouTube Studio analytics, or open a competitor’s channel.
Then press AskChatGPT in the Atlas and paste this prompt :
“Analyze the last 10 uploaded videos on this channel. Review titles, thumbnails, and audience retention. Summarize what’s performing, what’s not, and highlight patterns in audience sentiment and comments. Suggest 3 content ideas that fill existing gaps in this niche.”This is such a good one. You can let the agent scroll through comments, see what people are asking for, and spot the value gaps that only you can fill.
3. Improve your sales page conversion rate
Open your own sales/offer or landing page.
Then run this prompt:
“Analyze this page from three perspectives:
Copywriting and messaging — clarity, emotional pull, and alignment with buyer psychology.
UI/UX — layout, hierarchy, and visual flow.
Marketing strategy — trust, urgency, and perceived value.
Summarize key weaknesses and write a revised hero section and CTA using the top improvement opportunities.”This gives you a mini conversion audit without hiring a strategist—perfect for quick iteration before a launch or campaign.
If you want to see how this looks in practice, I shared my first reflections and a few real use cases in this week’s YouTube video.
When I see the results after running those prompts in Atlas it really make me think that AI browsers have nothing to do with “faster” or more efficient search. They are rather filters of do you even need to search in a first place? I am still wrapping my head around it, but it definitely changes what “browsing“ means to me.
I’ll be sharing more prompts, workflows, and real use cases for Atlas and Comet inside The AI Solopreneur Club over the next few weeks.
If you’ve been curious about joining, this is where everything I create lives first - real prompts, use cases, and behind-the-scenes experiments - all shared inside a community of creative, curious solopreneurs learning together.
Until next week,
Your AI Solopreneur Bestie,
