Hey!
I'm going to jump right in because I don't want your attention span to wander off on me.
If you still have any hesitations about making Claude your primary AI, I'm hoping this email gives you both the perspective and the actual steps to make that happen.
Anthropic just said no to the Pentagon
This is what happened this week: Anthropic, the company behind Claude, had a $200 million contract with the Pentagon.
The Pentagon wanted to use Claude for "all lawful purposes."
Anthropic drew two lines: no autonomous weapons, and no mass surveillance of Americans.
The Pentagon threatened to label Anthropic a "supply chain risk," which is something they normally reserve for foreign adversaries.
Anthropic's CEO Dario Amodei said: "We cannot in good conscience accede to their request."
They had until 5pm Friday to cave or face the consequences. As of me writing this, they're saying no.
Tech workers from OpenAI and Google companies signed an open letter supporting Anthropic's position.
The petition urges OpenAI and Google’s leaders to “put aside their differences and stand together to continue to refuse” the Pentagon’s demands.
As someone who has worked over 5 years in the Responsible AI space, I really can't say this loudly enough:
This is the only major AI company that is structurally trying to get this right.
I'm not naive.
There's no guarantee anyone gets this right. We're all in uncharted territory.
But every other company is racing to say yes to everything and everyone (I am looking at you OpenAI with your ads roll-out)🙄.
Anthropic even built Claude’s constitution - a real set of principles that guide how the model behaves.
That matters more than we can comprehend right now.
let's talk about Claude
I know some of you are thinking "Elena, that's nice and all, but does it actually work better?"
Yes it does. I am not going to go into all the ways here and now, but I'll share one of the main reasons why I think it’s better.
Every time you run something through ChatGPT, the first thing it does is rush to produce.
“Want me to make a LinkedIn version? Here's a 10-step plan!"
It's like dating someone who's constantly trying to impress you instead of actually listening to you or asking what do you actually want to say.
Claude does something different. It asks you: "Is this aligned with your thinking? Should we look at another angle first?"
Anthropic built it that way on purpose. It wants you to use AI to strengthen your thinking, not outsource it.
And once you experience that difference, going back feels off.
Like going from a partner who really listens to one who just talks over you.
My content and workflows got better because Claude made ME think better. My strategy got sharper. I went from getting faster outputs to getting better thinking.
I'll take that trade every time.
You CAN break up with ChatGPT
If you're sitting there going "fine Elena, I'm sold, but ChatGPT KNOWS EVERYTHING about me" - I made a whole video on this.
I walked through how to transplant ChatGPT brain and transfer your memory, your context, everything you've built up over months, to Claude.
I'm kicking off a series of in-depth Claude workshops inside the AI Solopreneur Club that will take you from complete beginner to power user to basically having Claude run as your COO.
Module 1 drops next week. It covers the foundations - how to actually work in projects, when to use which model, when extended thinking makes sense (and when it doesn't), building artifacts, building skills, and hands-on projects so you walk away knowing how to USE Claude and not just chat with it.
The goal is to get you ahead of 90% of people out there, even if you're just starting.
After that, Module 2 goes into Claude Cowork (plugins, more complex skills, automations, connecting it to your other tools), and Module 3 will eventually cover Claude Code for the ones who want to go all the way.
If you want to follow along with these as they drop, they're available to Premium members in the AI Solopreneur Club.
The price goes up as I release modules, so if you want to lock in the founders price for life, now is the time.
this is not over
We're at this moment where the decisions these companies make will shape how AI works for all of us.
For our businesses, for our kids, for how the whole thing plays out.
And the only company that seems to actually take that seriously just proved it with $200 million on the line.
So yeah. I'm betting on Claude.
And I think you should at least go on a first date.
Until next week,
Your AI Solopreneur Bestie,
Elena
